Often called a master of show
business, Buffalo Bill Cody truly
embodied the pioneer spirit of the
American West. Although he is
probably remembered best for his
larger-than-life Wild West Show
antics, William F. Cody had plenty
of personal experiences to draw
upon for his portrayal of the
Frontier. By the age of 14, he had
worked as a wagoner, trapper, and
prospector, and even joined the
Pony Express. Later, he utilized
his skills as a civilian scout for the
military, a hunter, and an actor.
