In 1964, Dr. Martin Luther King,
Jr., won the Nobel Peace Prize and
followed his dream of civil rights
for all humanity. His faith, his
commitment to nonviolence, and
his powerful oratory helped inspire
and unify protesters throughout the
nation and the world in the fight
against racial and socio-economic
injustice.
Although this very learned and
peaceful pastor became the target
of criticism and violence, he was
undaunted and continued to lead
our nation into an era of greater
understanding of each other and
toward the hope of working
together to achieve greatness.
